Jean-Yves Monette was named Chairman of the Board in July 2008 following a career of nearly 40 years in the food industry, including 20 of them as a manager in the coffee sector. After joining Van Houtte as President of the Coffee Group in 1994, he was appointed President and CEO of the Company in July 2003.
From 1989 to 1994, Jean-Yves Monette worked with the management company Unigesco Inc. as vice-president of Aliments Excelco (Café Selena, Red Carpet Food Services, KiRi Beverages and the La Cantinière Group). In this capacity, he was president, Drinks and Chips Group (1989), president, Café Excelco Group (1989-1990), president and CEO of the La Cantinière Group and president of Maxi Krisp and Déli-Chef (1990-1994).
From 1985 to 1989, Monette was a member of the board of directors of Lassonde Industries and general director of one of its subsidiaries. From 1966 to 1984 he held various strategic positions at Schwartz Inc.
A business administration graduate of Concordia University, Jean-Yves Monette is a member of the board of the Canadian Coffee Association, which he once chaired. |
